  2. This looked like the monitor and tv of our dreams, but poor us and poor Amazon, they only use UPS up here in Maine, and the driver as he got off the truck with it said “this looks pretty beat up!” The box looked like they had tried to fold it in the middle, and had been patched up with tape. Expensive tinkling sounds emanated from within.

Naturally we refused the poor thing, and asked Amazon for a refund which being Amazon they did no problem.

Lesson: 1) DON’T buy larger fragile items from Amazon, as they seem to only use UPS. 2) If a box from UPS or any other carrier looks roughed up, you have every right to refuse it IF YOU HAVE NOT ACCEPTED OR OPENED IT. 3) Take photos wherever possible, in case someone has a short memory and tries to charge you anyway.

We really hope Amazon changes to FEDEX, as stuff from them gets up here in pristine condition. We know that LL Bean dropped UPS, where they’re known as Buster Brown. Try to avoid UPS shipped goods!

  3. We would like to have known BEFORE we purchased this product that the install CD does NOT work with any browser except microsoft Internet Explorer which we DO NOT USE.

Because the install CD doesn’t work with our Firefox browser, we were directed to a non-automatic, manual install. PROBLEM – The non-automatic install makes you choose from four different software installations — but does NOT explain why we should choose one over the other. We expect the install program to make those decisions !!

Because Samsung fails to provide auto install for anyone who does not use microsoft internet explorer, then Samsung needs to explain the difference among the 4 choices so we can at least make an educated guess as to which option to install.

We are VERY DISAPPOINTED in Samsung and hate to see Samsung trying to force feed us microsoft internet explorer by giving no other install option.

The monitor/TV is being returned. Thank goodness we tried to install the monitor/TV before Christmas and found out about this crap — because we also purchased two Samsung LCD televisions for gifts — a 40″ and a 47″ — but they are going back to the store too and we will buy two TV’s of a different brand than Samsung.

We won’t be buying anymore Samsung products because we don’t do business with a company who is in bed with microsoft and tries to force us to use internet explorer. Shame on Samsung!

  4. I am extremely disappointed with this monitor. I chose it partly because of features, but also because the case was styled well and I thought would look good on a desk that is seen by anyone who enters our home. Unfortunately nothing seems to note that in the HD versions of the T260 and the T240, there is no cover for the cables in the back. And worse yet, they stick straight out the back, not down like just about every other monitor.

It seems that other than Apple’s monitors which haven’t been refreshed in years, no one even tries to make something that looks good 360 degrees around!

Actually quality of the picture is so for me. Very washed out and not that sharp. Was expecting to be wowed when I looked at it, but unfortunately I’m not. Debating whether to return it at this point and eat the shipping.

  5. I just bought it and now I’m returning it.

As a PC monitor: colors are washed out and the text is blurry. I got a headache from looking at stuff. I have a great video card, nvidia geforce 9800, so you can’t say it’s my fault. Also, you can’t adjust height or angle. It sits very low. So the bottom part of screen looks different from the top part. It is lighter and more washed out, because you’re looking at it from different angle. You’d have to adjust your chair to a really low position. That’s another thing. I had to duck down to see bottom part in real colors.

As a TV: picture is grainy. Letters look blurry. Even HD channels look really bad. And speakers are horrible-sounding and cheap. You have to connect your speakers in earphone jack on the side of it to get somewhat decent sound.

It looks nice, but that’s about it.

I’m gonna get a real monitor now. Like a Dell or something. Not some hybrid crap. And a real TV, made by Sony or Panasonic.

Good reviews are written by people that know nothing about anything, or by people who WORK FOR SAMSUNG.
