Thanks for the great book about Champ Ferguson, “Good Rebel Soil”. It arrived in a timely fashion and in excellent condition. This book will give me hours of great reading.

I bought because my laptop screen was cracked. monitor comes with intallation disc but also self installs after plugged into output screen jack. however this was done in safety mode and then rebooting. if your system has password it must be removed prior to installation. my dvd r/w drive stopped working after using this monitor although i am not sure if monitor software is the problem. resolution is excellent. acer tech support is easy to reach and helpful. they were unable to fix dvd problem. the software allows the user to set color and other parameters.

I’ll update this review when I can actually use this monitor — but be aware if you have a very new system, that this monitor only comes with an old analog style VGA monitor cord. If your video card outputs with a DVI connection you are SOL and will need an adapter.
In this case, I wanted a smallish flatscreen to use on my main desk with an older Powerbook G4, so I can get some use out of it when I’m not traveling. The 12″ Powerbooks have a mini-DVI output and while the laptop includes an adapter it isn’t analog. The last two monitors I’ve purchased have had both cords for VGA and DVI so you could use whatever you had on your system, but this one doesn’t. Bit disappointing – as I understand it, DVI is the new standard and newer machines and graphics cards support it by default.

Mine was stuck on 800 x 600 resolution and would not change.
Acer cs is terrible! Not only are they no help, but they waste your time as well.
